Sharing their Enviroschools Mahi this term;

Milford Kindergarten (Auckland Kindergarten Association)

Milford Kindergarten exploring Mana Whenua (through Te Whāriki lens). A story sharing their exploration of Te
Whāriki strand of Mana Whenua and how this supported changes in their philosophy, practice, and Enviroschools mahi. A journey that led to deeper connections to their wāhi (Milford Kindergarten), as tamariki developed their mana whenua/belonging, and sense of connection to identity, environment, and Papatūānuku.

Parihaka Kindergarten (Northland Kindergarten Association)

Parihaka is a Bronze Enviroschools kindergarten that is deeply connected to the whenua on which it stands,
Parihaka Maunga (Whangārei). Their sharing of learning is unique and inspiring. In this zoom they will share a
snippet of their mahi on ‘Guided by Maramataka, aligned with our Enviroschools Kaupapa’. With their growing
understanding of how they could use the concepts of Enviroschools five Guiding Principles, the kaupapa of
Enviroschools, and the 5 main moon phases within the Maramataka calendar in both their short and long-term planning, they recognised the correlation between the kaupapa of Enviroschools and using the Maramataka.
